FACE TIME
Dewy, glowing skin is achievable at any age, you just need the right tools and knowledge, says celebrity makeup artist Jay Jay Rauwenhoff, who’s worked with Sarah Murdoch, Sigrid Thornton, Deborah Mailman and Sophie Falkiner.
Here are Jay Jay’s simple tips we can all follow:
1: Use very little foundation – maybe only a pea size - and blend well.
2: Use a tinted moisturiser. Or, to create that dewy, more youthful look that doesn’t sink into creases, dilute your foundation with a primer that is mainly hydration-based with a pearlescent finish.
3: Blend well using fingers or a foundation brush but only use the tip of the brush. If you use little flicking movements you can blend a lot faster and make the foundation look less heavy. I do not advise sponges as they absorb a lot of product and often make the foundation look heavier.
4: Always match your foundation to your chest, not your face.
5: If it’s not easy to blend, then it’s the wrong one for you.
FROM ME: Buy the CORRECT foundation for YOUR SKIN type and it has the ability to make you look like a more beautiful version of you. I have both supermarket and high-end faves. Ask me.
NOTE: I’m not paid to endorse any of these products. I only recommend what I know really works.
