THE GAME-CHANGING ANTI-AGER
If you fumbled through with beauty in your 30s, now is the time to get serious about a skincare routine that delivers results. Skincare guru Sue Dann – who looks after the faces of Lisa Wilkinson, Sandra Sully, Marta Dusseldorp, Sylvia Jeffreys and Melina Vidler – talks us through what we should and should not be doing. .
ARE YOU DOING THIS? “Many women I see are overtreating their skin because it seems that has become the normal thing to do. Overuse of aggressive ingredients to get a quick result can result in the opposite effect and destroy your skin’s acid mantle (the top protective layer).”
THE PERFECT ROUTINE: “Daily skincare should be simple and regular without the use of harsh products, less is usually more. Cleanse, tone, moisturise with a weekly exfoliation. Serums can be used to treat individual conditions as well as an eye cream.”
OILS ARE IT: “As we age the level of sebum, collagen and elastin (the good stuff!) reduces naturally. By using oil-based products the level of lipids can be increased.
THE OMG CREAM: Dr Spiller Collagen Cream, $126, 50ml. “This is my all-time-favourite multi-tasking dream cream,” says Sue, AND it’s mine too! It is SO VERY GOOD. dr-spiller.com.au
