7 EASY WAYS TO GLOWING SKIN
These clever beauty tricks will take you from looking tired to terrific in minutes.
1: Problem: You can’t hide those tired eyes.
Solution: A strategically placed shimmer eyeshadow will brighten up the area and make you look more fresh and awake. Dab on the inner corners of your eyelid.
2: Problem: You’re wearing makeup and have the sweats.
Solution: Keep an antioxidantrich hydrating mist in the fridge. It won’t disturb your makeup but it’ll soothe tight, hot feeling skin.
3: Problem: Puffy eyes.
Solution: Swap your pillow slip to silk – it will not only reduce puffiness but smooth out skin creases that form overnight. A five-minute lie down with a targeted eye mask will reduce puffiness and dark circles, and give you an enforced recharge.
4: Problem: Skin looks drab.
Solution: Embrace highlighting, which is “like a filler injection”, says celebrity makeup artist Liz Kelsh who’s worked with Jennifer Aniston, Cate Blanchett and Gwyneth Paltrow. Use it just under the brow arch to give them a lifted look and on top of the cheekbones for added glow. If you use too much, tone it back down with your foundation.
5: Problem: Dry skin.
Solution: In summer, swap to a lightweight moisturiser that still delivers enough hydration so skin doesn’t feel tight. In winter, up the hylauronic acid levels in your day and night creams.
6: Problem: Makeup sliding off.
Solution: Add an illuminating primer to your routine. It will give dull-looking skin an overall boost and keep makeup lasting longer. Be sure to wait 5 minutes before applying foundation.
7: Problem: You need on-the-go glow
Solution: Always carry a creme blush with you. The right amount of sheen will put back the glow into drab looking skin with minimum effort. Just dab onto the apples of your cheeks and slightly above, avoiding the fine lines area.
