WHAT: The micro-current facial uses two hand-held prongs that deliver exact dosages of extremely low-voltage electrical currents (hence micro-current) which mirror your body’s electrical currents and stimulate the facial muscles.

GOOD FOR: Firming and toning skin, as well as lifting jowls.

PAIN LEVEL: You might feel a slight tingling sensation.

RESULTS: After one session, but more-so with a series of six to eight sessions.

WHAT: Different colours trigger different reactions beneath the epidermis and penetrate the skin at varying depths.

GOOD FOR: Red light boosts collagen, shrinks enlarged pores and tightens skin, and blue light kills bacteria that causes acne.

PAIN LEVEL: Painless. You will be given goggles to wear as the light is bright.

RESULTS: Straight away, but it keeps working three days after treatment.

COST: Approx $50-$80 for 30 mins, often as an add-on to a regular facial.
