LIP TIME
“You’re never too old for colour but it’s about finding the RIGHT shade for YOUR skin tone and then HOW you apply it,” says celebrity makeup artist Melanie Burnicle, who has made up the faces of Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Sophie Monk and Jessica Mauboy.
“You’ll notice the outer corners of your mouth starts to drag or sag down a little, so you need to think about drawing the shape of your lip on,” advises Burnicle.
“But don’t take your lip shape all the way to the outer corner where it’s dragging now.
Cut the lip line shorter than your lip in the outer corners and the illusion will give you an uplifted, youthful appearance.”
FROM ME: I never thought I could wear a bold red lip until I was shown what worked for me. And I love that a bright lip not only makes you feel a little perkier but has the abilbity to focus attention away from tired eyes too. I’m a huge fan of natural lipsticks and I take comfort in knowing I’m not ingesting chemicals when I (regularly) lick my lips.
NOTE: I’m not paid to endorse any of these products. I only recommend what I know really works.
